William Whitehead Card Table
New York c. 1810
Mahogany, Satinwood, Ebony, Holly, Cherry, White Pine, Poplar
Features: D shaped figured mahogany veneered leaves, with inset line inlay enclosed by white wood boarder. Cross banded top edge. Satinwood veneered frieze with six figured mahogany ovals, bordered with light/dark stringing, above complex banding. Tapered legs with sand shaded fan inlaid into plinth. Graduated bellflowers suspended from inlaid loops. Saw tooth inlaid cuff band. Fifth leg on fly apron with rounded knuckle joint.
29 3/8 inches high, 35 7/8 inches wide, 17 5/8 inches deep
